A seemingly unrelated event from the past suddenly explains why this particular character has been drawn into the nightmare. An Inciting Incident introduces the threat—and suddenly you know where the story begins.

Use the cards to create protagonists, antagonists, victims, investigators, occultists, monsters, supernatural NPCs, or entire casts of characters whose lives are about to intersect with something they don't understand.

The Horror & Urban Fantasy Companion is built for supernatural horror, contemporary fantasy, paranormal mysteries, occult thrillers, ghost stories, monster stories, dark fantasy, and weird fiction—or whenever an otherwise ordinary PSYCHE character needs a brush with the impossible.
